Natural and organic products that will clean you up, make your smile bright and squeaky clean, and leave you feeling silky smooth.

There are so many bath and body products available on the market that it can become an overwhelming task trying to decide which ones to use. Buying natural and organic bath and body products promotes the continued availability, and increase, of healthier and more sustainable options. If you're looking for a change, try these out. I bet you won't go back.

Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soap

Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soap is certified organic, Fair Trade and uses no animal testing. It is made with 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. It's available in six different sizes and nine different natural scents:

  • Almond
  • Baby (Mild)
  • Citrus (Orange, Lemon, & Lime)
  • Eucalyptus
  • Lavender
  • Peppermint
  • Rose
  • Tea Tree

Dr. Bronner's "magic soap," as described on its product labels and website, stands up to its reputation. Dr. Bronner's can be used as an all-in-one body soap, face wash, shampoo, and conditioner. For hair suggestions, follow this guide:

  • Short hair - use as shampoo and conditioner, will leave your hair feeling like you used a soft pomade, saving a step in your morning routine
  • Thick (long or short) hair - use as shampoo and maybe conditioner, but add leave in conditioner or other product after shower
  • Thin, long hair - use as shampoo, but not as conditioner because it will weigh your hair down

The Natural Dentist Healthy Gums Mouth Rinse, by Revive

This mouth rinse uses natural ingredients, and includes no alcohol, artificial sweeteners, or preservatives. Anytime I read "natural" on any product, I'm skeptical. There are no laws in place to prevent the term natural from being used on products. For example, when an item is listed as 100% organic, it must be 100% organic; when listed as organic, it must be at least 95% organic; but there are no such rules for the "natural" label . The Natural Dentist is a nice change of pace, with their research studies found easily from the homepage. Natural actually means something with them. Plus, it comes in two good flavors, Orange Zest and Peppermint Twist.

Burt's Bees Natural Whitening Toothpaste with Fluoride

Burt's Bees Natural Whitening Toothpaste uses no animal testing or artificial colors, and is sulfate, phthalate, petrochemical, and paraben-free. It advertises 99.2% natural ingredients, and I'm listening! It tastes good, makes my mouth smell good, and most importantly, it makes my teeth feel and look good. After one use I could already see a difference.

NOW Solutions 100% Pure Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is all natural and hexane-free, and it uses no animal testing. It is a luxurious moisturizer that will truly leave you with baby butt skin after just a few uses. It has a very light scent so it will not tickle your nose or compete with your perfume. It also works well as a face moisturizer and can be used as a hair conditioner, too. Suggested uses are listed at the bottom of NOW's jojoba oil page.

Manawa 100% Pure East Cape Manuka Oil

Manawa's East Cape Manuka Oil is a sustainable, all natural product that is antibacterial, antifungal, anti-allergenic and anti-inflammatory. It works perfectly as a face and body moisturizer, as long as you appreciate a woody scent. While using manuka oil as a moisturizer I am less prone to oily skin and experience a clearer complexion more often. It also helps new scars heal nicely.

Shikai Natural Moisturizing Shampoo

Soap-free, low-detergent Shikai Natural Shampoos use shikakai, a plant that has been used for years as a gentle moisturizing shampoo. A brief history on Shikai reveals how a chemist with an idea, Dr. Dennis Sepp, created a bath and body company based on science and the use of natural ingredients. Shikai's moisturizing shampoo really is moisturizing, but following up with a conditioner is still a good idea.

Hugo Naturals Vanilla and Sweet Orange Volumizing Conditioner

Hugo Naturals use no animal testing. They are vegan and gluten-free, and contain no parabens, petroleum products, sulfates, or artificial fragrances. They are also made in the USA. Okay, so it's not organic, but it is free of several non-desirable ingredients. Hugo Naturals' Volumizing Conditioner smells great and really does add volume to thin hair. What's really cool is Hugo Naturals' Ingredient Features, a breakdown of various ingredients used in their products.
